Children are the nation builders of tomorrow. The overall development of the future of the nation solely depends upon the children of today. Therefore, they should be given proper care, like food, cloth, shelter, love and affection, medical facilities, and education. These are the rights of children. We see many children collecting plastics and bottles. These works are definitely against the child's rights. The problems of child labor in developing countries like Nepal, India Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka have become the burning question of today. In Nepal alone, half a million children are being employed in various works.
It is an issue of subsistence that forces the children to take up menial jobs and give up their studies at an early age of life. The parents of the poor children find it hard to continue their education and either is forced to live in the house or sent to various places for earning a livelihood. Sometimes, the children are hoarsely treated by their stepfather or stepmother and are forced to leave the house. As a result, the children are seen in the tea stalls, sweets shops, hotels, restaurants, in transportation such as porters or handy boy in tempos and buses. Many of the times, still very commonly they are employed in rich man's houses as servants, a great number o they are engaged in carpet making trade, ending of cows and etc. when they find the situation intolerable they run away from the workplace and reside in street collecting plastics and bottles.
This inhuman trade cannot be stopped unless a severe law is passed. Compulsory primary education would be of much use in this regard. This exploration goes on because poverty is the root behind all these. The time has come when the nation should rise against such evil practices and pass suitable laws for the protection of the children.
